Counseling Department Discipline Liaisons

The liaison counselor is the primary contact for the academic department/program faculty for communication and departmental collaboration.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Maintaining communication with the liaison department chair to gather updated information about changes in degree requirements, course offerings, and anticipated curriculum changes, as well as offering insight into how changes may impact the student education planning process.
  2. Presenting updated information to the Counseling Department and/or coordinating a presentation from the liaison department faculty in a counseling department meeting
  3. Collaborating with the liaison department faculty (if scheduling permits) to assist with projects or events of mutual benefit to the academic department and the student services division. (Ex: Coordinating classroom visits, career theme weeks, etc.)

It is important to note that the counselor is not assigned to see students only from the liaison department and students should be advised to see any counselor for their academic planning needs.
