Course Evaluation
International students can meet with a counselor for course evaluation after they have been admitted to the college. The college does not pre-evaluate coursework prior to admission.

Review this information before meeting with a counselor for course evaluation:
The college Admissions & Records Office must have your official transcripts on file in order to validate any approved course passalongs or substitutions submitted by the counselor. Official transcripts are only required if you will be using courses from other institutions to obtain an Âé¶¹ÆÆ½â´«Ã½ degree or certificate.
Contact the institution you attended, or the evaluation agency you used for international coursework, and request they send your transcripts directly to Âé¶¹ÆÆ½â´«Ã½'s main Admissions & Records Office. Electronic transcripts should be sent to: @email . Do not have your transcripts sent to Âé¶¹ÆÆ½â´«Ã½ International.

Bring the following to your counseling appointment:
- College transcript
- For review purposes, you may bring an unofficial copy
- Course descriptions from the college/university catalog
- Course descriptions are not needed for courses completed at California Community Colleges
- Course syllabus
- Required for English composition and critical thinking courses completed at non-California community colleges.
You may be referred to a program department chair if the courses need to be evaluated for associate degree or certificate major requirements.
Students who have completed courses from an accredited university outside the United States may be able to apply the course credits toward an associate degree or certificate at Âé¶¹ÆÆ½â´«Ã½. This does not include Associate Degrees for Transfer (AD-Ts).
Before meeting with a counselor to review coursework, the student must have their academic records evaluated course by course (comprehensive evaluation) by a
International coursework will NOT satisfy general education (GE) requirements for: English Composition, Oral Communication and Critical Thinking, American Institutions (U.S. History), and university transfer GE requirements. The transferability of international courses will be determined by the transfer institution.

International Baccalaureate (IB) exams may be used to meet Âé¶¹ÆÆ½â´«Ã½ degree requirements. View our college catalog to learn more. The section on IB exams is located under "Scholastic Policies."
If you wish to review your exam scores with the ISS counselor, bring a copy of your scores to your counseling appointment.
If your IB exams will be used to meet Âé¶¹ÆÆ½â´«Ã½ degree requirements, you must request that your official scores be sent directly to the college Admissions & Records Office.
Once you have been admitted to Âé¶¹ÆÆ½â´«Ã½ International, you can schedule an appointment with a counselor for course evaluation. Âé¶¹ÆÆ½â´«Ã½ counselors can only evaluate your transcripts or exam scores for Âé¶¹ÆÆ½â´«Ã½ degrees and certificates.

NOTE: If you are not an F-1 Visa international student, but you have international coursework you would like evaluated, contact the General Counseling Office.
